Blower Door Testing

Prior to any air sealing or insulation work at your home, a blower door test will be conducted. A blower door is a large fan that creates a difference in pressure from the outside environment to the inside of the home. Air then tries to equalize the pressure by rushing through any cracks or crevices throughout the home. Once these cracks and crevices are identified, they can be properly sealed. At the completion of this test, the blower door digital manometer will provide us with a measurement in CFM at 50 pascals. After the air sealing and insulation work is complete, the test is run again and the CFM measurements can be compared to show how much the envelope of the home has improved.
